Credible - Believable (Sarn Cook)

Great authors make characters with believable personalities. They show personalities through these: Dialogue, action, reactions, thoughts. I can see these in Beans character. Beans is disrespectful, obnoxious, careless around people, and does what he pleases. From these personalities, he is just using actions.

Persuasive Writing (Sarn Cook).

In-class & in Lockdown, we have been learning about persuasive writing and how it can affect people when using emotive language, correct punctuation, and great detail.

Name :Sarn Cook

Audience: Government, The Public

Purpose: Job loses cause of Lockdown.

People Shouldn’t lose their Jobs because of Lockdown!

Covid 19 -  the job thief. How many people have lost their jobs during lockdown?

Today in level 4 people have been losing their jobs due to the Delta Variant, a new

virus that researchers found in the sewage in Warkworth and in wellington. In my

opinion, I think people shouldn’t lose their jobs because it makes them struggle,

mentally and financially. In this speech I will be telling you why people shouldn’t lose

their jobs in lockdown and why they should keep their jobs.

Main Idea 1

People shouldn’t lose jobs because then they won’t get paid, which is not good cause

they could end up on the street. One of my Papa’s mates lost his jobs because of the

lockdown, so he had to become a rubbish man as an essential worker so he doesn’t lose

his job again. This is what happens to people when we go into lockdown because of the

high number of cases. According to Health.govt.nz there have been 55 new cases today and 603 cases in total. This is terrible because

the more cases we get the longer the lockdown is, which is petrifying because people are losing

their jobs for no reason. My statement is that the government shouldn’t allow people to lose

their jobs during lockdown, but keep their jobs in case of financial problems or homelessness.

When you're driving down the street you might see homeless people walking around asking for

money or trying to shoplift. Those people could have been people who lost their job, According

to bbc.com Damian Fowler says. Millions of kiwis have been losing their jobs due to the Covid 19 outbreak.

Main Idea 2

I think you should know that trying to find another job is harder than finding your first. That's

because Lockdown closed down businesses for a reeeaally long time, so there’s no opportunity

for them to even apply for the job. Or even see if there's a job for them to apply for, I

think the government should lend job applications out to people who don’t have a job,

because they might end up on the street. Or even better, I think the Government

should build a street full of homes for people who don’t have homes to live in.

Like that would be amazing, so that when you're driving or walking up the road you will

see that everyone is happy and everyone has a home.

Main Idea 3

Lockdown Level 4 - Everyone's worst nightmare . . . or daymare. In Level 4 it's

boring, very boring. I heard that someone's experience in Level 4 was boring. All of

her siblings were hitting and yelling at each other. Yelling, Screaming, Fighting - Was

your lockdown like that? If so that must of been dumb. It must of been mentally

challenging and frustrating time without being able to go to work. People would suffer

or even get depressed because they can't go to work and provide for there whanau,

or put food on the table.

Summary

People shouldn’t lose their jobs to lockdown; they should be able to keep them and

still get paid so they don’t end up on the street or in poverty. People need to open

their eyes and take a look at themselves and think again about those who are suffering

on the street.
